Gardasil
Good Day Readers,
After a doctors appointment for my daughters regular vaccines. I sat down and had a chat with the doctor about the Gardasil shot. Most doctors would like for you to immunize your girls with this new injection. It supposedly will protect against HPV ( human papillomavirus). So first let me tell you alittle about this drug. This injection only helps protect against 4 types of HPV's. It protects against types 6, 11, 16 and 18.
HPV Types 6 and 11 cause about 90%
of genital warts cases in females and males.
HPV Types 16 and 18 cause about 75% of cervical cancer cases in females.
HPV Types 16 and 18 also cause about 70% of vaginal cancer cases and up to 50% of vulvar cancer cases in females.
Gardasil is suggested to be given to children before they have encountered sexually activity, however if on is already sexually active you can still get immunized..
Gardasil is not only a vaccine for females it is also for males too. Doctors and the CDC recommend giving this vaccine anywhere from age 9-26 year old females/males. Just below I included an exert from the drug manufacturer's website.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends routine vaccination with GARDASIL for girls ages 11 to 12, and for young women ages 13 through 26 who have not already been vaccinated. The CDC states that GARDASIL can be given to boys and young men ages 9 through 26, if you and the doctor decide it’s right for your son. (I underlined that last line cause it is ultimately up to the parent to make that decision)
The way they administer the drug via injection. GARDASIL is given in 3 doses over 6 months.
So when the doctor and I talked about it. She proceeded to tell me it is a good shot, but there are also over 100 different types of HPV's out there that they know of..
This coming from my daughter's Doctor. You take what you want from that comment. What i would say is here is some info for you on this subject and you chat with your child's Doctor. Make up your mind based on the facts.. That is exactly what I did.
As Always I Love You All
And
God Bless You!!!!!

Nuvigil-Armodafinil(ar moe daf' i nil)
Hello Blog Reader,
It has been a bit since I have put something new on the blog. That is till tonight. I was driving into work this morning and on the radio there was an advertisement for a drug. The name of the drug was Nuvigil. Of course like any new drugs out there it explains the benefits of the drug first repetitively and slowly. Then after the 1-2 things it may list as to what it will help you with it is followed by a lengthy list of what it could/ or may mess up in your body. This drug was geared to those of us who work crazy shift hours or those of us who's jobs require crazy hours of mandatory overtime. It promises to create wakefulness in those of us who may be or get sleepy during the midday hours. This drugs is also used to treat narcolepsy. After listening to the benefits which aren't many. It proceeded with a crazy long list of side effects. I am sorry but I am one who gets sleepy during the middle of my work day and to tell you the truth I read the various side effects and I personally don't think the risk out weights the benefits on this one.. Hello lets go ahead and feel sicker than you have ever felt in your life just for the sake of staying awake at work..
Ummmm I would rather change my diet and be healthy first Thank you.. (However to each his own) Now I am not saying do not take the Meds. What I am saying is read for yourself and may your own choice..Plus the fact that this drug messes with the chemicals in the brain is sort of scary anyways.
Nuvigil-Armodafinil is a type of drug to create wakefulness. This drug is used to treat excessive sleepiness caused by narcolepsy (a condition that causes excessive daytime sleepiness) or shift work sleep disorder (sleepiness during scheduled waking hours and difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep during scheduled sleeping hours in people who work at night or on rotating shifts). Armodafinil is also used along with breathing devices or other treatments to prevent excessive sleepiness caused by obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS; a sleep disorder in which the patient briefly stops breathing or breathes shallowly many times during sleep and therefore does not get enough restful sleep). Nuvigil is at type of drug considered to be in a class of medication called wakefulness-promoting agent. It works by changing certain amounts of chemicals in the brain that causes wakefulness and sleep.

I use to be sad cause I lost my sister/my best friend but I am not anymore. This blog has been nothing but a Journey that started the day my sister died up till now and is still going. I know deep in my heart that God has been showing me and still is showing me how to use my loses/experiences to help others. My sister dying is not about me or my sister it is about others who need to be reached with this information. He is showing me how to use those loses and experiences everyday. God has given me the courage, strength and ability to do this. It is only beacuse of God that this blog is where it is today. I am very blessed, thankful and honored to be able to be used by God. Even if it comes from a painful event in my life.
