Common Singulair side effects in Children
(occurring in at least 2 percent of children) included:
- Sore throat
- The flu
- Fever
- Sinus infection
- Diarrhea
- Indigestion or heartburn
- Ear infection
- Laryngitis (inflammation of the voice box, often causing a loss of voice)
- Headaches
- Chickenpox
- Tooth infection
- Vision changes
- Cough
- Abdominal pain (stomach pain)
- Eczema
- Pneumonia
- Conjunctivitis ("pink eye")
- Tonsillitis.
Other common Singulair side effects (occurring in 1 to 2 percent of people) included:
eakness or fatigue
- Fever
- Trauma (accidental injury)
- Gastrointestinal infections
- Tooth pain
- Dizziness
- Nasal congestion
- Rash.
Serious Singulair Side Effects
- Worsening of asthma or allergies
- Depression (see Singulair and Depression)
- Hallucinations
- Signs of liver damage, such as:
- Yellow eyes or skin
- Dark urine
- Upper abdominal pain
- Signs of an allergic reaction, including:
- Unexplained rash
- Hives
- Itching
- Unexplained swelling.
